Support the Blues in Columbus

Every contribution keeps the music playing — in clubs, in classrooms, and in the hands of the next generation of blues musicians.

Help Keep the Blues Alive

Arts funding continues to shrink, and when it does, communities don’t just lose programs—they lose opportunities, creativity, and connection.

Local artists struggle to find stages, students miss out on life-changing experiences, and entire cultural scenes risk fading away. That’s where organizations like ours step in. Founded in 1989, the Columbus Blues Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and affiliate of the Blues Foundation. Our mission is to promote, support, and preserve blues music and culture in the central Ohio area and beyond.

As an all-volunteer organization, every dollar you give goes directly toward supporting artists, funding scholarships, and keeping the blues—and the community around it—alive and thriving.

We understand that times can be challenging, and not everyone is in a position to give. If you can donate, please know how deeply we appreciate your support—your generosity truly makes a difference. You can also make an impact by becoming a member, renewing your membership, or volunteering your time—every bit of support helps keep the music alive.

Why Your Support Matters

The Columbus Blues Alliance has been an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit since 1989. We don't have a paid staff, a development office, or a marketing budget. What we have are hundreds of members, a working board, and a community that shows up — for the music, for the musicians, and for the kids learning their first twelve-bar.

Your donation is what makes the rest of it possible. It funds the Columbus Blues Challenge that sends a local artist to the International Blues Challenge in Memphis each year. It puts Teenie Tucker and Or Mars in front of classrooms through Blues in the Schools. It keeps the 614 Allstars rehearsing, performing, and competing on the national youth stage. It awards the Play It Forward Scholarship to a graduating senior pursuing music. And it sustains the events, programs, and small-but-essential operating costs that keep CBA running year after year.

We're a 501(c)(3), so every dollar is tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
