The Colmbus Blues Alliance Blues Challenge is the annual competition to select the acts that will represent the CBA at the Blues Foundation's International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. The 2009 International Blues Challenge will take place February 4-7, 2009. The International Blues Challenge is an annual competition to select the the best "unsigned" blues bands in the world. Each year, Blues Foundation affilliates have the opportunity to send their representatives to the IBC. Who's to say the next IBC winner won't come from Columbus?..... To help pay expenses in Memphis, the winner of each category will receive prize money* as listed below. Band winner: $1,000 Solo/duo winner: $200 / person *Prize money will be paid by check to one person of each winning act one week prior to the 2009 IBC.
